Coillte: National Trails Day Brand Identity

National Trails Day is a joint project involving several State agencies including Coillte, Fáilte Ireland, Comhairle na Tuaithe and the National Trail Office. The project is about working together to promote outdoor activities, nature walks, and to raise awareness of ‘Trails’ in Ireland. It’s a designated day and will encourage all walks of life to get outdoors!

The new brand mark conceived by BFK represents many types of people that will use the trails: from families to mountain bikers to advanced hill walkers. The brand mark, in both the Irish and English versions, works across a variety of platforms from regional and national advertising to promotional banners.

The Minister for Community, Rural and Gaeltacht Affairs, Eamon Ó Cuív, officially launched the National Trails Day with TV personality Kathryn Thomas in St. Stephen’s Green on 24th July 2008.

Coillte: Social and Environmental Report 2001

Coillte, the Irish Forestry Board, takes seriously the balancing of social, financial and environmental issues in the management of its forests and complies with international best practice set by the Forest Stewardship Council Certification (FSC), which it was awarded in 2001. Coillte's first Social and Environmental Report was issued in parallel with its 2001 Annual Financial Report. Significant progress continued through 2002. Showcasing examples of best practice in action in forests throughout Ireland allowed Coillte to demonstrate this in the recently published 2002 Social and Environmental Report, which again matches the Annual Financial Report, and shows how an ethos of excellence in forestry management has affected Coillte's businesses at all levels.
