We worked intensively with the Commission for Taxi Regulation to help them craft a compelling and comprehensible visualisation of data sets explaining the status of the Irish Taxi Industry.
The Commission collects a great deal of data relating to driver and vehicle licensing, enforcement and complaints. It had also began conducting periodic consumer and industry surveys. In line with its commitment to enhance communications with the Small Personal Service Vehicle (SPSV) industry, the Commission decided to create a publication would use that data to provide an ongoing picture of the SPSV industry in Ireland.

Our challenge was to take what could be an overwhelming deluge of data and use graphic design to maximise the reader's understanding. We worked with their team at a very early stage to brainstorm how such a publication should appear. For example, we explored what would be the optimum balance between graphic visualisation and textual commentary. After establishing a proof-of-concept design treatment, we worked through many intensive rounds of iterations to derive the clearest ways to graphically present each of the various classes of information required.
Through bold use of colour and precise attention to typography and information design, we created a pubication that delivers quite a high density of data in an easily digestable manner.
Facts & Figures is going to be published biannually, in line with the Commission's collection of its survey data and other statistics.
